Stroytransgaz and Alpine GmbH will jointly participate in implementation of infrastructure projects in Russia

PJSC Stroytransgaz, a major Russian engineering, industrial and civil construction company, and ALPINE Bau GmbH, a major European company involved in construction, operation and financing infrastructure projects, signed a framework cooperation agreement. Purpose of the agreement is joint activity in projects for the construction and upgrading of the transport infrastructure in Russia.

Under the above agreement, signed by President of Stroytransgaz Sergey Makarov and members of ALPINE BAU Board of Directors Cristian Trattner and Jorn Wisse, the companies defined a number of major projects for the potential mutual cooperation.

Stroytransgaz and Alpine Bau are planning to participate in major projects for motorways and railways construction, high speed motorways, and bridge crossings in Moscow Region, Moscow and other cities of Russia. Construction of the Central Ring Motor Road (CRMR) in Moscow Region is one of attractive projects.

In case of successful participation in tenders and winning contracts, the parties consider joint implementation of projects on the PPP (public private partnership) basis, including probable incorporation of a joint construction company and a special engineering company. Further on, the companies plan to proceed to strategic partnership level.

Attraction of leading foreign companies to road construction complies with the plans of the state long-term economic policy. In accordance with the Presidential Decree, since May 7, 2012 to December 1, 2012, a mechanism must be formed for attraction of foreign companies to participation in tenders for the roads construction in Russia.

“Stroytransgaz is prepared to enter a number of major investment projects on transport construction. In this segment, we have sufficient experience and the resources required. Cooperation with Alpine will open new project management opportunities to us; moreover, we will expand our experience in the implementation of advanced European technologies”, said Sergey Makarov, President of Stroytransgaz.

Stroytransgaz has built over 600 km of motorways since 2005. In 2010, construction of MRR – Skolkovo road section was completed.
