Stroytransgaz Ranked as One of the Top International Contractors

According to the results of operation in the international market in 2011, Stroytransgaz was ranked 142 of the 225 Top Global Contractors and 180 of the 225 Top International Contractors ratings, published by the Engineering News Record international agency.

The Top 225 Global Contractors List ranks the 225 largest world construction contractors and is based on total construction contracting revenue regardless of where the projects were located, while The Top 225 International Contractors List is based on general construction contracting export revenue generated fr om projects outside each firm’s respective home country.

According to ENR, the total profit of the leading international contractors group increased after the 3 year lull in the market and made USD 453 bln., exceeding the corresponding result of 2010 by 18,1%. This trend was possible, “despite some global upheavals and uncertainty in the world construction market” as ENR notes, including “the market participants’ concern for the Europe’s financial health”.

2011 was a fruitful year for Stroytransgaz, too, in terms of its international activity development and performance of projects in Europe, Africa, Middle East and Central Asia. The company completed construction of the Taweelah-Fujairah gas pipeline connecting the southern and the northern costs of the UAE. In the Czech Republic, there was implemented the first stage of the Gazelle pipeline which is a part of the Nord Stream project. The company managed to go on with construction of another gas treatment plant in Syria despite an acute political crisis in the country. A remarkable event in Stroytransgaz history was completion of the project of unique spiritual and cultural significance – the Pilgrim’s Home Complex on the Baptism Site of Jesus Christ on the River Jordan.

It is important to note that PJSC Stroytransgaz was and still is the only Russian participant of the Top 225 International Contractors List. Its branch offices are represented in a number of countries, including Algeria, Syria, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, India, Greece, and the Czech Republic. The company is experienced in foreign contracts under EPC conditions. Similar projects were implemented by Stroytransgaz in Algeria (Sougueur-Hadjret Ennous and OZ-2 gas pipelines) and in Syria (Arab Gas Pipeline [Phase 2]), wh ere the construction of another gas treatment plant is going on.

Developing business cooperation, Stroytransgaz makes a contribution into expansion and diversification of Russia’s trade and economic positions abroad, consolidation of strategic partnership with energy resources leading producers.
