Stroytransgaz completed one more project in Algeria

Stroytransgaz completed a pipeline GK-1 Ouled Djellal - Skikda reconstruction project in Algeria as well as the construction of a new pipeline in the city of Skikda. In total, the company built 150 km gas pipeline as well as related ground facilities and support systems.

The contractor is Algeria's National Oil and Gas SONATRACH Company that has collaborated with Stroytransgaz since 2001. In the end of April Stroytransgaz and SONATRACH signed a certificate for temporary acceptance of the facility, whereafter a 2 years period of guarantee maintenance of the pipeline sections has started.

Repair of 145 km GK-1 Ouled Djellal - Skikda line was performed using a parallel looping construction method: new sections were selectively laid within 12 m from the old pipeline. In the industrial area of the port city of Skikda Stroytransgaz built a new 5 km pipeline section.

The company has implemented the project under EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) conditions: a full range of design and survey works, delivery of materials and equipment (without the line pipe), construction, installation and commissioning were carried out.

The project was implemented by Stroytransgaz within the framework of the transmission network development in Algeria. Reconstruction allowed increasing throughput and reliability of the pipeline supplying gas to consumers in the North of the country, including gas liquefaction plant, power plant and other facilities. Moreover, the pipeline has additional branches for further construction of branches to other gas consumers.
