SIBUR completes construction of a linear part of the product pipeline Purovskiy GCP –Tobolsk-Neftekhim

On June 4, SIBUR announced completion of the linear part construction of the product pipeline connecting the Purovskiy gas condensate processing plant (GCP) and Tobolsk-Neftekhim, an 85 km section of which was constructed by Stroytransgaz-M LLC (STGM LLC). Mikhail Karisalov, Chief Executive Officer of SIBUR (Client of the construction), was the one to inform Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, in a teleconference from Tobolsk, that the product pipeline had commenced the testing operations.

LLC STGM, which is part of the STG Group, has constructed a linear part of the product pipeline section from the Noyabrsk loading rack to the Yuzhno-Balykskaya pumping station on general contract terms with Zapsibtransgaz LLC (a part of SIBUR).

The product pipeline totals 1,100 km in length. The pipeline’s throughput capacity between Purovskiy GCP and the loading rack in Noyabrsk totals up to 4.5 million tonnes of raw NGL per annum, between the loading rack in Noyabrsk and Yuzhno-Balykskaya MPS – up to 5.5  million tonnes per annum, between the Yuzhno-Balykskaya MPS and Tobolsk-Neftekhim site – up to 8 million tonnes per annum.

At present time, the pipeline sections between Purovskiy GCP and the loading rack in Noyabrsk and the one connecting the loading rack in Noyabrsk and the Yuzhno-Balykskaya MPS, totaling 686 km in length, have been put in operation and maintenance phase and filled with NGL. At the Yuzhno-Balykskaya MPS - Tobolsk-Neftekhim section, with the length of 414 km, pre-commissioning works are in progress, as well as installation of power lines, APCS and communication lines and construction of access drives. Currently, NGL is supplied from the Purovskiy GCP to the gas fractionation units in Tobolsk using the existing pipeline infrastructure.

The launch of the new pipeline will enable SIBUR to significantly extend its infrastructure for light hydrocarbons transportation, and to increase its throughput capacity and reliability.
