STG Group starts dismantlement of the stadium in Volgograd

PJSC STG, a general contractor for the FIFA 2018 World Cup stadium construction in Volgograd, has set to dismantle the Central Stadium in the city of Volgograd. LLC Reforma (Ekaterinburg) will be a Contractor for these works. Currently, the stadium seats and lighting fixtures are being dismantled. STG has also started the scheduled demolition of buildings and structures.

The special equipment - long reach excavators - are used at the construction site. In the short term, an additional 20 units of cargo-carrying equipment will be allocated to dispose the construction waste to the nearest landfill in Volgograd.

In parallel, the works regarding the construction site fence installation are coming to an end. The transplantation of blue spruces growing within the territory of the stadium has been started. The first trees have been planted in one of the parks in Volgograd.

"Dismantling of the stadium is to be completed by the end of the year. I would like to note, in particular, the support provided by the administration of the region in terms of the work organization. The concerted actions of all the participants allow us to execute works in strict adherence to the schedule," noted project director Asatur Gukasyan.

A 45,000 seats football stadium in Volgograd is designed to hold round of 16 and quarter-final matches of the 2018 World cup. The new stadium will be built in lieu of the existing "Rotor" stadium.
