Equipment tests at Goryachinskaya substation built by STG in Buryatia were successfully completed

Tests of the core electrical equipment at 220 kV Goryachinskaya substation were successfully completed. PJSC STG is the General Contractor of the facility under order of FGC UES (Federal Grid Company of Unified Energy System). The company built a turnkey substation in the coastal zone of Lake Baikal near the settlement of Goryachinsk.

According to Vasily Vinogradov, Project Director, the operating voltage tests at 220 kV Goryachinskaya substation included connection of two autotransformers with the total capacity of 250 MVA. High voltage transmission at Goryachinskaya substation was carried out from the 220 kV open switchgear of 220 kV Tataurovo substation (modernized by STG) via double-circuit 220 kV Tataurovo-Goryachinskaya  power line with a length of 132.2 km (built by STG).

High voltage tests were also completed for the following equipment: 2nd bus system of 220 kV open switchgear, 1st and 2nd 10 kV bus systems. There were also completed tests of the operating voltage system, relay protection and automation equipment and communication equipment.

The works to be completed at Goryachinskaya substation before September 2015 include the following: landscaping and site finishing, construction of intrasite roads, construction of utility buildings (garage, warehouse, pump house, etc.) and finishing works in the substation control house.

In August 2014, PJSC STG completed the construction of a section of Tataurovo-Goryachinskaya power transmission line, which starts from 220 kV Tataurovo substation. At this substation STG specialists completed modernization of the open switchgear and installed two additional cells and switching equipment. This made it possible to connect the new high-voltage line to the substation.

Putting into operation Tataurovo and Goryachinskaya substations and the power transmission line connecting them is the first stage called “start-up facility”. STG will take part in the tender for completing the second phase (“full development”), at which FGC plans to construct one more substation being 220 kV Barguzin substation with the capacity of 50 MVA. There will be built a section of 220 kV power transmission line from Barguzin substation to Goryachinskaya substation. Thus, a 240 km line of Tataurovo-Goryachinskaya-Barguzin will be created. It will be the main electric power component of Baikalskaya Gavan special economic tourism and recreation zone, which in the future will become a year-round resort with a highly developed infrastructure.
