STG has been Prequalified by Gazprom OJSC

PJSC STG (STG) has been prequalified by Gazprom OJSC and included in the register of potential contractors of this customer. STG has been entitled to participate in closed tenders for construction, reconstruction, modernization, overhaul and technical upgrade of Gazprom Group’s power facilities with the capacity of up to 110 kW.

STG has successfully passed the long-term comprehensive inspection of Gazprom. At the first stage DNV GL Group, an independent inspection company, assessed whether STG meets the customer’s requirements in terms of basic criteria such as construction company experience, its HR resources, materials and equipment, licenses and permits of a self-regulating organisation, quality management system, etc.

The results of the inspection conducted in STG’s office was positive. Energy Construction Development Unit, headed by Irina Dumova, prepared the required documents and brought them in compliance with the requirements.

At the second stage STG passed the production check, during which a special committee of the customer visited STG’s construction sites: 330 kW OPL Leningradskaya NPP-2 – Kinguiseppskaya and 330 kW OPL Leningradskaya NPP-2 – Gatchinskaya. In the course of inspecting STG the customer identified no problems conserving occupational safety, equipment, regulatory documents. The inspection was supervised by Andrey Litovchenko, head of the Energy Construction Audit Department.

According to the inspection results STG fully meets Gazprom’s requirements. This is an important result for the company to diversify its customers. Gazprom is one of the world’s largest energy companies and a prospective STG’s customer in the area of power facilities construction.

Gazprom OJSC is the leader of the Russian energy market. Since acquisition of the first energy assets in 2007, Gazprom has become a major investor in the domestic power industry. The company has already performed more than 2/3 of the new facilities construction obligations assumed by the Group when entering the industry (namely, commissioning of generating facilities with the total capacity of about 9 GW between 2007 and 2016 (1/3 of obligations of all investors in domestic generation), more than 6 GW has already been commissioned).

Some of the major energy facilities constructed by Gazprom in recent years: Adler TPP, combined heat and power plants at CHPP-21, CHPP-27, Pervomaysk CHPP, Yuzhnaya CHPP, etc.

Gazprom’s power facilities are comparable in size to large power systems. Structural units of Gazprom consume more than 2% of the total energy generation in the Russian Federation.

Gazprom’s power facilities comprise 11,000 transformer substations with the voltage of 10/35/110 kW; 80,700 km of cable and overhead power lines; 228,000 electric machines, including 725 electric motors of gas compressor units with the capacity of up to 12 MW; about 1,700 power plants of various capacities generating more than 1.2 billion kWh.
