Construction of the overpass in Tuchkovo has been commenced

PJSC STG commenced construction of an overpass in Tuchkovo, Moscow oblast. These works were commissioned by the Main directorate of road facilities of Moscow oblast. The overpass in Tuchkovo is one of the first priority facilities constructed under the “Free Passage” project as part of the “Our Moscow oblast” Governer’s program.

“Construction is to ensure free circulation at the crossroad of “Mozhayskoe Highway - Tuchkovo” road and railroad to Smolensk owned by the Moscow Railroad, Chief of the Main directorate of road facilities of Moscow oblast Konstantin Lyashkevich who has visited the facility’s construction site lately informs. Now kilometers of traffic jams emerge with circulation of more than 1 thousand cars per peak hour, and the lifting gate is open for vehicles and emergency services for only 30 minutes”.

Implementation of this project will allow crossing the railroad in a safe and unhindered manner, using a modern four-lane motor road (2 lanes to each direction). The traffic is as intense as more than 7 thousand cars per day, and the prospective capacity is 25 thousand vehicles per day.

“Construction of the overpass is a long awaited event, the people approve the undertaking, chief of the technical expertise directorate of PJSC STG Aleksandr Zhdanov tells, an overpassed bridge was planned here as early as in the 80th of the last century.”

PJSC STG will build a modern 423 m four lane overpass. It will pass over the railroad at the hight of 6.9 meters. The project provides for renovation of the existing road networks to ensure connection of the adjacent street and residential quarters with the overpass. For entering and exiting the overpass, road sections with sidewalks for pedestrians with noise-proof screens will be constructed to protect residential houses located nearby. The length of the new road section with entrances, exits and overpass will be 1.3 km. An installation for parking is provided under the bridge near the city polyclinic.

The territory of future construction was started to be prepared for clearing in January 2015, and in March works on the site, including arrangement of temporary town, clearing and planning of the territory at the points of renovation of utilities was commenced. Simultaneously, detailed design is ensured, working documents will be completed in July 2015.

Currently, preparation of the site and clearing of the territory for construction of the overpass’s supports continue. In April the works relating to dismantling of the existing buildings have been started, the constructors will have to dismantle more than 40 structures. The supports are to be erected at the end of April during the active construction phase. 15 monolithic reinforced concrete supports will be arranged for the overpass. The bridge spans will be made of 168 reinforced concrete beams of up to 33 m. The foundation of all artificial structures will be based on more than 800 reinforced concrete piles.

According to director for implementation of infrastructure projects of STG PJSC Vladislav Pototsky, in the current year the constructors will clear the area for the deviation of the overpass, expand the existing motor roads, arrange a temporary detour for circulation of vehicles in Tuchkovo, complete more than 25% of the total number of reinforced concrete supports for the overpass and sustaining walls of the approaches.

Completion of all works on the site is provided for by the contract for 2018, however, taking the complicated transport situation in Tuchkovo into account, the constructors will make their best efforts to open the overpass for circulation of transport ahead of schedule.

Earlier this year, PJSC STG commenced construction of an overpass in Firsanovka. At the end of February this year, the company has early commissioned the first side of the overpass in Perkhushkovo at Mazhaysk Highway. Construction of the overpass between Mikhnevo-Zhilevo section of the Moscow railroad has almost been completed.
