PJSC Stroytransgaz has completed the construction of the overpass over the railway at the 33rd km of Mozhayskoe Highway, Odintsovo Municipal District.

Left side (leading from the Moscow region to Moscow) of the overpass was opened to traffic on October 15, 2015. The right lane was opened on February 25 of the current year. PJSC Stroytransgaz acts as the general contractor of the construction project; the Main Directorate of Road Facilities for Moscow Region is the customer to the project. The cost of the project is 4.5 bln. roubles.

The overpass is constructed under a trilateral Agreement on Elimination of One-Level Crossings of Roads and Railways concluded by the Government of the Moscow Region, Federal Road Agency (Rosavtodor) and JSC Russian Railways. Stage one facilities on the roads of the Moscow Region, including the overpass at the railway platform Perkhushkovo, became part of the project “Free Passage” of the Governor's program “Our Moscow Region”.

Overpass eliminated the crossing of Mozhaiskoe Highway with the railway on the running line “Odintsovo-Golitsyno”. Now at the 33rd km of Mozhaiskoe Highway a free passage is ensured regardless of the electric trains, and there are no more restrictions on the reduction of commuter trains intervals. Earlier the traffic density at this section of the road was 14700 vehicles per day. The overpass will allow the daily traffic of about 50 thousand vehicles. Design speed on the overpass is 100 km/h.

The Governor of the Moscow Region Andrei Vorobyov launched the traffic on the new overpass on October 15. The event was also attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Moscow Region Pyotr Ivanov, Head of the Regional Road Management Agency Konstantin Lyashkevich, Director General of PJSC Stroytransgaz Mikhail Khryapov and others.

Andrei Vorobyov thanked the construction workers for the successful implementation of the project, noting that the construction of the overpass was carried out within the established time frame and without exceeding the contract price. ‘I am sure that such modern overpasses, as in Odintsovo district, change the quality of life,’ said the Governor.

‘We reached another important milestone in the framework of the Governor's program “Free Passage,” said Mikhail Khryapov. We, as professionals, are proud of our participation in this project the purpose of which is to eliminate traffic jams, unclog the roads, improve their quality and develop road infrastructure of the Moscow Region. We all know that this work is of great social and economic importance for the region.’

The right and left sides of the overpass include two lanes in each direction, the length of each side is 543 m. The width of the traffic way of the overpass is almost 30 m. Total length of approaches and relief roads, which were built by PJSC STG as a part of the project, is about 3.2 km. The highest point of the overpass is 13 m above the ground. More than 6 thousand tons of steel structures were used during the construction. The length of the noise screens, which were installed by PJSC STG, is almost 2 km. Among other things Stroytransgaz has built an overhead crosswalk with the length of 43.76 m, which is equipped with a lift for handicapped persons.

The scope of work of STG also included land development, reconstruction of utility lines, construction of modern treatment facilities for centralized collection of storm water, etc.

During the construction of the overpass we used modern technologies including energy saving LED lighting. Mastic asphalt with high wear resistance was applied during the construction of the bridge road bed. Anti-washboard strips protect expansion joints against vehicles dynamic loads. Geoweb was laid in the basis of the pavement structure, and distributes the dynamic loads as well as increases the service life of the facility.

STG Group is currently implementing a number of other projects on demand of the Chief Administration for Road Facilities of the Moscow Region for a total amount of 8.3 bln. roubles, including construction of transport junctions and overpasses.
