PJSC Stroytransgaz is to Build Transport Junction in Krasnogorsk

PJSC Stroytransgaz, a member of STG Group, started preparing for installation of the first start-up complex of the two-level interchange at the intersection of Volokolamskoe, Penyaginskoe and Ilyinskoe highways in Krasnogorsk district of the Moscow region. The Customer is State Public Institution “Management of Road Construction” which is subordinate to Main Directorate of Road Facilities of the Moscow region. Funds in the amount of RUB 6.9 bn are allocated by the regional road fund.

“The contract for interchange construction has been concluded with the contractor. At present all permits have been received. The builders will start the site clearing works till the end of January,” said Konstantin Lyashkevich, Head of the Main Directorate of Road Facilities of the Moscow region.

PJSC STG will act as the project’s general contractor, develop detailed design documentation, carry out construction and installation works, deliver material and technical resources, and perform pre-commissioning works. The first start-up complex is to be finished at the end of 2018.

The project of implementation of the first start-up complexes out of three ones comprises construction of the right direction of the Volokolamskoe highway base line crossover above railway lines of Riga direction. The traffic flow will be organised on a temporary basis on two lanes each way. Consequently, even at this stage of construction traffic jams occurred due to closing of the railway crossing while trains running will be eliminated.

Moreover, rearrangement of utilities, renovation of sections of adjacent roads and arrangement of ramps to them will be carried out under the project. To ensure safe and easy movement of residents of adjacent districts construction of one pedestrian undercrossing and two overground crossings is planned.

Upon completion of construction of the third start-up complex the two-level interchange will comprise the base line crossover above Riga direction railway section, crossover at the interchange ramp of Volokolamskoe and Ilyinskoe highways, bridge over Ban’ka river, reversal overpass at Volokolamskoe highway and three pedestrian crossings.

The transport junction length will reach about 9 km, the number of traffic lanes will increase from four to six, from the direction of Volokolamskoe highway, four lanes will be arranged from Ilyinskoe highway and two more lanes from Penyaginskoe highway. Total traffic capacity of the new facility will exceed 80,000 cars daily. It is planned to start the implementation of two more start-up complexes upon confirmation of the funding sources.

The project execution will allow to eliminate traffic difficulties in Krasnogorsk district associated with the heavy transit traffic and railway crossing over the Riga railway section.
