Stroytransgaz Increased Number of Workers Involved in Construction of Volgograd Arena up to 1200 People

PJSC Stroytransgaz acting as the general contractor for construction of the Volgograd Arena stadium being built for the FIFA World Cup 2018 has increased the number of workers involved in construction of Volgograd Arena up to 1200 people.

Nowadays, the main share of construction work includes in-situ concreting, concrete being fully supplied from Volgograd concrete plants. Furthermore, three more local contractors have been involved in construction, another three being from Saratov, Moscow, and Saint-Petersburg.

In December 2015, Mikhail Khryapov, the head of PJSC STG, at the working session of the Deputy Presidential Envoy to the Southern Federal District Vladimir Gurba with the Governor of the Volgograd Region Andrey Bocharov, reported that he planned to increase the number of workers at the construction site for the purpose of augmenting the work pace. The head of STG kept his promise and over 1200 people are working at the site now. Work is being carried out in 2 shifts in all sectors.

Almost all construction materials are of domestic make. The general contractor is involving mainly Volgograd suppliers, i.e. Serebryakovsky Cement Plant is delivering cement to the construction site, sand also being supplied from local quarries. Voronezh is providing crushed stone, metalware (mesh, fittings, profiled metal) are of Russian make.
