The construction of the third floor of the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium starts in April

Another visiting meeting was held by Valery Shantsev, the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, at the construction site of the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium being built for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. During the working meeting the constructors reported that in the beginning of April 2016 STG will start the construction of the third floor of the future arena.

Now the construction of the second floor is coming to an end. “The working documentation for the third floor has been received - next week the constructors will start the erection. Now the question of steel constructions, which are still being manufactured is being solved”, Valery Shantsev reported.

The construction of the second floor is being implemented ahead of target, the head of stadium construction STG PJSC Alexey Anikin said. “Now we proceed the works on installation of the on-site utilities. It is necessary that more than 10 kilometers of pipes shall be laid within the perimeter of the future stadium. These pipes will serve for water and heating supply, water disposal and storm water discharge. For now more than 1500 of pipeline running meters of waste water and storm water discharge have been laid, the work progress corresponds to the schedule. Besides, in April we start the following stage of installation of entrance elements of the stadium”, - Alexey Anikin underlined.

As Deputy Governor Dmitry Svatkovskiy reported, the Russian Government included the construction of Nizhny Novgorod stadium into the list of 73 major projects in Russia, implemented with the participation of the Federal Government. “It is not only one more proof of the arena`s importance for the whole country, but also a very high level of responsibility. The stadium is good for our economy, social segment - people from Nizhny Novgorod will take advantage of this heritage left by the World Cup for many years”, - Deputy Governor said.

We remind that Nizhny Novgorod will host 6 matches of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, including quarter-final. According to the independent poll held in December 2014 - January 2015 on FIFA demand, 83% of Nizhny Novgorod residents support the tournament in Nizhny Novgorod – it is the highest indicator among all the 11 host cities.
