Construction of Frunzensky Bridge is in line with schedule

Alexander Petrovich Nefyodov, the First Vice-Governor - Chairman of the Government of Samara Region, held visiting meeting at the construction site of Frunzensky Bridge.

The works on erection of Frunzensky Bridge consisting of a number of facilities began in autumn 2015. It is a composite reinforced concrete bridge across the Samara River, reinforced concrete bridge across the Bannoye Lake, two transport junctions on Frunze Street and Shosseynaya Street. Total length of new motor way shall amount to 2.67 km by 2018. The estimated traffic density of the bridge which will include three lanes in each direction will amount to 39,500 vehicles per day.

The importance of the project was noted by Governor of Samara Region Nikolay Ivanovich Merkushkin. “In November we drove the first pile in the foundation of Frunzensky bridge. Construction of bridges will ensure attraction of the global transport flows for dozens of years ahead. We need to do everything to make the region a centre of the intersection of two of the most important transport lines “Europe - Western China”, the Governor believes.

Currently, the major scope of works comprises construction of piers of the bridge. The bridge across Samara River will be supported by 8 piers, one of them is ready at the moment. At present two out of 7 bank piers of the bridge across the Bannoe Lake are completely ready.

Moreover, the detailed design documentation is being developed and preparatory works including dismantling of buildings and structures (gasoline station), vegetation clearance are being carried out.

“Samara is in dire need of one more exit from the city. It will allow to lessen the load on the existing bridge crossings, to make transport available to residents of Kuibyshevsky district, residential districts under construction on the left bank of Samarka River. Today we see that the construction is in line with schedule, the construction pace is high”, A.P. Nefyodov summed up.
