The visitors went to the second floor of the stadium under construction and got acquainted with the equipment of the future stands. In particular, the FIFA representatives tested the anti-vandal seats for spectators.

FIFA Competition Department Director Coleen Smith mentioned that International Federation of Association Football controls over construction of all stadiums. “Given the schedule we have no concerns about the timely completion. We appreciate the enthusiasm of the regional authorities. We are satisfied,” Mr. Smith said.

According to General Director Deputy on Construction of PJSC Stroytrangaz Vyacheslav Velichko, roof framing of the Nizhny Novgorod stadium will be finished by the end of 2016. “In three sectors construction of columns of the third floor, on which the supporting ring of the stadium roof will be fixed has already begun. This is a complicated metal structure which will unite the bearing columns at height exceeding 40 meters and on which the roofing system will be fixed. For this purpose 44 reinforced concrete columns of 1.4 meter in diameter will be used. We also continue pre-assembly of temporary metal structures necessary for installation of the stadium covering structures. At present, almost one third of all temporary metal structures of the stadium is pre-assembled, i.e. 400 t out of 1,200 t. The stated amount of temporary elements is necessary to raise the supporting compression ring at the necessary height using heavy weight lifting jacks and to fix it on the special columns. This work scheme will not only reduce the terms of installation of the main metalwork of the stadium, but also allow us to start concurrently the arrangement of angular stands of the second tier, where the preparation for the work commencement is already conducted", Vyacheslav Velichko reported.

At present, over 1,100 workers are involved, construction of the Nizhny Novgorod stadium is being implemented day-and-night. Installation of the third floor of the future arena is being carried out in all four sectors. For B, C, D stands the third floor is the last one. The A stand will have five floors in total. Construction progress is according to the schedule.

Simultaneously with of the stadium in-situ concreting and installation of temporary metal structures trenching is performed and in-site utility networks are laid. More than 2 kilometers of pipes are laid which will serve for water and heating supply, water disposal and storm water discharge.
