STG JSC started the construction of the third floor of the Nizhny Novgorod stadium

PJSC Stroytransgaz started the erection of the third floor of the future arena. As the head of the stadium construction Alexey Anikin says, the work progress corresponds to the schedule. “Recently we have started to reinforcement of the third floor columns in two of the four sectors. The works on erection of the third floor of the stadium shall be completed by the end of summer. Furthermore, in April we are going to see the start of supply of the necessary elements for the beginning of one of the most important work stages - roofing steel erection work”, - Alexey Anikin reported.

At the present moment the construction works at the Nizhny Novgorod stadium are being implemented day-and-night in two-shift work schedule. Along with the erection of reinforced concrete structures the work on installation of the on-site utilities for the water and heating supply of the new arena, as well as for waste water and storm water discharge is going on. For now more than 1,5 km of the waste water and storm water discharge pipeline has been laid. Furthermore the constructors started the next stage of installation of entrance elements where fans will pass through the examination area and then move freely throughout the stadium.

On March 2016, at the construction site of the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia a regular visiting meeting was held by the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Valery Shantsev. As Deputy Governor Dmitry Svatkovskiy reported, the Russian Government included the construction of Nizhny Novgorod stadium into the list of 73 major projects in Russia, implemented with the participation of the Federal Government. “It is not only one more proof of the arena`s importance for the whole country, but also a very high level of responsibility. The stadium is good for our economy, social segment - people from Nizhny Novgorod will take advantage of this heritage left by the World Cup for many years”, - Deputy Governor said.

The Nizhny Novgorod Stadium, designed for 45 000 seats will host group matches as well as 1/8 and 1/4 matches of the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ finals. Following the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the stadium will also be used as a multifunctional complex to host various mass events.
