Navigator Vocational Guidance Project is launched in Volgograd region

Navigator, a vocational guidance project of STG for orphans, is launched in the Volgograd region

On April 26 press conference devoted to the Navigator project launch in the region was held. Children from orphan homes and boarding schools of the Volgograd Region will participate in the vocational guidance program. The organizers is the Administration of the Volgograd Region together with PJSC STG.

The Navigator Project is aimed at assisting teenagers in choosing the professional career, receiving education and further employment and thus at promotion of social adaptation of the orphans.

From April to September, 2016 150 children of 12-17 years old from seven orphanages and boarding schools of the Volgograd Region will receive professional orientation excursions to the construction site of the Volgograd Arena stadium, various enterprises of the region and educational institutions where children will get acquainted with the terms of entrance, training and accommodation.

Together with the excursions pupils of orphanages and boarding schools will participate in the correspondence competition "My Profession is My Future". The two-day Navigator festival will become the central event of the project in September 2016. This is a multipurpose platform including professional orientation, sporting, intellectual and patriotic events. The rich program of the festival will include a welcome competition among teams relating to professions, a professional orientation exhibition involving enterprises and educational institutions of the region, team games "The Alphabet of Professions" and “What? Where? When?”, a lesson about the FIFA World Cup - 2018, a football match, a meeting with the Olympic champions and lectures of successful people which will inspire participants of the Navigator for achievements in study, sport, public life. Winners of all competitions will get prizes. Following the results of the project the press conference will take place.

On April 26 the first visit of participants of the Navigator project took place - 24 pupils of the Volzhsky orphanage visited the construction site of the Volgograd Arena stadium and participated in the press conference devoted to the project launch. Teenagers had an opportunity to get acquainted with the model of the future stadium, their numerous questions were answered by the head of construction Sergey Kamin. After the end of the press conference children visited State Budgetary Institution of Vocational Education Civil Engineering College where in the"Open Day" format the participants of the Navigator project got acquainted with the educational institution and its specialties.

“We want to show the teenagers a real option of their future where they act as students and, subsequently, experts in different spheres of professional life. The country needs highly skilled personnel, and their training begins just with such projects as the Navigator. It is a good beginning", the Chairman of Committee of Youth Policy of the Volgograd region, Olympic champion Elena Slesarenko noted.

Vice-chairman of Committee on Education and Science Larisa Kozhevnikova emphasized: “For graduates of the orphanages the choice of future profession is the most topical issue. I’m sure that Navigator will acquaint you with true business professionals and will help to choose the profession which will become your life-time project".

The Head of Corporate Communications Dept of PJSC Stroytransgaz Evgenia Novosad specified: Navigator is a comprehensive history, the project having soul which can unite many people in the different cities of our big country for the sake of a good deed – to help children to find their way to the future". She also noted that the success of the project depends not only on the organizers, but also on the involvement and activity of the participating children. “Today you have a unique opportunity to see the construction of the Volgograd Arena stadium where matches of the FIFA World Cup - 2018 will take place. It is a unique project, the construction project that inspires residents of Volgograd, the city, the whole country. The history is being made right in front of your eyes,” Evgenia Novosad said.

“At present the deficit of workers is growing, the framework for training of the middle ranking specialists is destroyed, the youth is oriented towards the office work and commerce rather than on construction sites in the remote regions, - Sergey Kamin noted. - We want to make the work consistent, to show the importance and prestige of the construction and other working professions on our own example”.

The first charity event arranged by STG for social adaptation of the orphan children was held in Nizhny Novgorod on August 7, 2015.

PJSC STG possesses a wide charity experience.  The company provided target help to the adults and children who needed treatment, participated in construction, restoration and support of temples, provided grants to the talented students of the specialized higher education institutions, gave support to cultural projects. For example, STG has built Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh in South Africa - it is the first orthodox church to the South from the Sahara. With assistance of STG the All-Russian competition of vocal music named after G.V. Sviridov once started, the monument to this composer was created, his memorial house in Fatezh town was restored, diaries of the composer were published, etc.
