A railway crossover span installation near Firsanovka platform in Khimki is completed

PJSC Stroytransgaz has completed installation of the span of Oktyabrskaya railway crossover near Firsanovka platform in Khimki town district. The span structure is made of the cast in-situ reinforced concrete. Over the whole construction period about 1,000 t of metal structures and 12 bearings have been installed.

At present, PJSC STG carries out concreting of the span plate and strengthens the waterproofing. Construction of the pavement structure base course is being performed in the vicinity of the crossover. Together with the above, handrails and barrier railings, noise fencing are being installed. Every day about 90 workers are active on the site.

“Today the crossover construction works are ahead of schedule, in June the contractor plans to start asphalt laying on the crossover and the adjacent territories. It is scheduled to open the object to traffic in late June”, Igor Treskov, Head of Main Directorate of Road Facilities of Moscow Region, announced. As the agency manager told, the facility is being built as part of the Governor’s Free Passage project to be implemented under the Our Moscow Region program aimed at elimination of one-level crossings of railway and motor roads.

Upon commissioning at the year beginning of the 4th main line of Oktyabrskaya Railway where movement of high speed trains Sapsan is arranged, the track crossing is closed for vehicles. To get to Moscow residents of Firsanovka Microdistrict have to organize their route via Skhodnya Microdistrict. The crossover in Firsanovka Microdistrict will connect Solnechnogorksy district and Khimki town district and ensure safe and comfortable travelling to Moscow for residents of Zelenograd.

The project stipulates construction of the railway crossover of 463 meters long. The total length of the crossover together with the road approaches amounts to 1.9 km. Design speed on the crossover is 70 km/h. The daily traffic capacity is expected to reach 19,000 vehicles.
