Stroytransgaz-M Receives Official Thanks from Gazprom for the Construction of the Arctic Terminal

The staff of LLC Stroytransgaz-M (a subsidiary of JSC Stroytransgaz) received official thanks from Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Management Committee of PJSC Gazprom, and Alexander Dyukov, CEO of PJSC Gazprom Neft, for the contribution to the development of gas industry and on the occasion of the commissioning of the Arctic Gate (Vorota Arktiki) oil-loading terminal. Special thanks went to Ms. Anna Rapp, Director of the terminal construction project, for considerable personal contribution to the development of gas industry and impressive performance.

On May 25, 2016, the Arctic Gate (Vorota Arktiki) oil-loading terminal for year-round shipments of the Novy Port field oil was inaugurated on the Yamal peninsula. The command to commence shipments of oil was given by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin by video conference.

LLC Stroytransgaz-M (a subsidiary of JSC Stroytransgaz) served as the general contractor for the construction of the terminal at the request of LLC Gazpromneft-Yamal.

Under the project, STGM has built an Arctic Loading Tower (ALT) terminal with the capacity of up to 8.5mln tons per year, 2 lines of the 720mm-diameter onshore pipeline with the total length of 3km, and a connection station to the crude oil delivery and acceptance point, as well as 2 lines of the 720mm-diameter offshore pipeline with the total length of 7.9km.

The terminal has been built in the severe natural and climatic conditions of the Far North in the absence of developed transport and industrial infrastructure. Difficult building conditions required a particularly thorough design engineering and innovations with due account for the natural, process and environmental contexts.

Alexey Kazmin, CEO of STGM, mentioned: ‘The experience of Stroytransgaz and its partners, highly competent management and ultra-modern construction technologies, as well as coordinated interaction with the customer were among the key factors for the project success, making a considerable contribution to the development of the Arctic resources that are of strategic importance to our country.’
