PJSC Stroytransgaz started construction of the fourth floor of the Nizhny Novgorod stadium

PJSC Stroytransgaz (STG Group) acting as the general contractor for construction of the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium being built for the FIFA World Cup 2018 started the installation of the next to last, the fourth, floor of the stadium in A sector. The A stand will have five floors in total, in the sectors B, C, D there will be three floors.

The construction is in line with the schedule in all three sectors. Bearing reinforced concrete columns of 1.4 meter in diameter which will support the stadium roofing are being erected. In total, 44 similar columns will be built in four sectors of the future arena, one of them is already completed.

Together with the concreting, assembly of temporary structures is continued. Part of them is already installed to allow the workers to start installation of the main metal structures of the stadium roofing in June. Prior to the end of 2016 it is planned to finish completely the construction of the roof framework, and in 2017 the workers will start the roofing works.

The Stadium in Nizhny Novgorod will have two stand tiers: the lower (17 rows) and the upper (44 rows). Now construction of the angular stands of the lower tier is partially completed. The arrangement of the upper tier stands is being prepared.

More than 1,400 workers are working at the site. Construction of the stadium is being implemented day-and-night. All workers on the site are provided with personal and collective protection equipment, pass primary and periodic medical examinations, timely training and examination on labor protection issues, rendering the first pre-medical aid, basic fire safety precautions, industrial safety, electrical safety, work at height.

The Nizhny Novgorod Stadium, designed for 45,000 seats will host group matches as well as 1/8 and 1/4 matches of the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ finals. The Nizhny Novgorod Stadium will further be used by FC Volga football team and also as a multifunctional sports complex.
