The Constructors of the Frunzensky Bridge “Moved into Town”

The works associated with the construction of Frunzensky Bridge started on the right bank of the Samara River, i.e. in the “historic area” of the city. Earlier the construction works were performed on the left bank only. The General Contractor of the construction of Frunzensky Bridge is JSC STG, a member of STG Group, by the order of the Government of the Samara Region.

“Currently the construction company has started the works on the right bank. A set of works is to be performed here, including the construction of the transport junction at Frunze St and the erection of three pillars of the bridge across the Samara River. The pillars are located near Frunze St, so we can say that the construction “has moved into town”. It is an important stage of the project implementation for us. Frunzensky Bridge will connect not only the two banks, but also the two parts of the city: Kuybyshevsky District and the historical centre of Samara,” said Konstantin Agalakov, Project Director of JSC STG.

So far, the clearing works on the right bank have been finished, and the constructors have begun the erection of the bridge pillars. The arrangement of bored piles is in progress at the construction site of the Pillar 1, while the construction of the foundation frame started at Pillar 2 site. Filling of the process area for the construction of Pillar 3 is in progress. Temporary service road is being constructed in order to provide access for large scale machinery.

Transport junction with access to the key streets of the city – Frunze, Kuybysheva, Chapayevskaya, and Krupskoy – will also be constructed on the right bank of the Samara River. The junction will include 10 interchange ramps.

Currently the constructors have started the erection of the 9th ramp. It will pass along the bank of the Samara River and lead to Malogvardeyskaya and Krupskoy streets. Reinforced concrete back wall is being constructed at the moment. It provides support and is designed for steep slope ground improvement.

The future junction is one of the key facilities: it will allow for easier traffic movement in the direction of the “historic area” of the city.

The works on the left bank are in progress as well. The construction of the Frunzensky Bridge is to be completed at the end of 2018.
