JSC Stroytransgaz to upgrade Molodezhnaya Substation

JSC Stroytransgaz (STG Group) won a tender and signed a contract for the renovation of a 35/10 kV Molodezhnaya substation located in Vyborgsky District, Leningrad Oblast. JSC Lenenergo, a power distribution grid company affiliated to PJSC Rosseti, is the project customer.

JSC Stroytransgaz is to replace two transformers, which will lead to a 2.5-fold increase in the capacity of the substation, i.e. from 12.6 MVA to 32 MVA. STG will, among others, fit the substation with an up-to-date modular 10 kV switchgear. The substation is to be upgraded without de-energising the loads.

Once upgraded, the Molodezhnaya substation will allow new loads totaling a capacity of 5.2 MW to connect to the grids. These new loads to include a farm in a Polyanskoye rural settlement, weekend houses and allotments partnerships “Zolotye Peski”, “Privetninskoye”, and “Ozernoye”, as well as private residential dwellings. Moreover, this renovation will add reliability to the power supply that serves the loads of the Polyanskoye settlement in the Vyborgsky District of the Leningrad Oblast, and in particular those of the Privetninskoye settlement.

The project to be implemented within the framework of a programme for long-term development of the power industry of the Leningrad Oblast for 2015 through 2019 as approved by the order of the Leningrad Oblast Governor. Timely renovation of power supply centres and installation of new advanced equipment are essential prerequisites for a secured power supply of the loads.

The renovation of the substation is scheduled to complete by the end of 2016 at the latest.
