Information on the launch of the Navigator Vocational Guidance Project

From July to September tours to the largest enterprises of the region will be organized for more than 120 students of orphanages and boarding schools of the Volgograd Region in the framework of the Navigator Vocational Guidance Project.

Today, students of Kotovsky Orphanage have visited the gypsum plant “Volma” and the bus plant “Volgabus Volzhsky”. These companies are leaders in their respective industries. Students have seen with their own eyes how the production of special-purpose buses and products for construction and decoration works is organized.  

During tours the participants of the Navigator Vocational Guidance Project have seen production lines and have been told about the product manufacturing process, companies’ activities and corporate values, the most sought-after professions and education which is necessary for work at these enterprises. After the tour, the children met with experts and got answers to all their questions.

“We see our youth as a strategic human resource and offer good working conditions and career prospects. There is a wide range of specialists we need: from painters, electricians and welders to laser machines operators,” said Gennady Bondarenko, HR and Security Director of Volgabus Volzhsky LLC.

“Every child sooner or later will face the task of choosing a future profession. Tours to the company is one of the most effective ways for children to solve this problem more consciously. Here they not only get acquainted with the profession in the real world, but also communicate with the professionals, receive information from the first-hand source,” emphasised Evgeniya Novosad, a spokesman for the co-organizer of the project – PJSC Stroytransgaz.

Until the end of September 2016 the students of orphanages and boarding schools in the region will visit Elansky Cheese and Butter Factory, bread-baking complex and farm enterprise of Uryupinsk Municipal District, Tsaritsynskaya combined manufactory and other large industrial enterprises.

Navigator Vocational Guidance Project, which is aimed at getting acquainted the children from orphanages and boarding schools of the Volgograd Region with blue-collar occupations, was launched on 26 April 2016. Students of the seven institutions have already visited the newly built “Volgograd Arena” stadium and schools where teenagers have been acquainted with the most sought-after blue-collar occupations.

The culmination of the project will be a two-day festival, which will take place in autumn 2016. Festival is planned as a multifunctional playground with vocational guidance, sports and intellectual activities. The results of the correspondence competition “My Occupation is My Future”, which is held in parallel with the vocational guidance tours, will be announced as well.
