Student construction brigades started their work at Volgograd Arena site

PJSC Stroytransgaz, acting as the general contractor for construction of the Volgograd Arena stadium being built for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, involved the students of the Volgograd State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (VSUACE) into the process of the stadium construction.

Today, on the 1st of July, the Volgograd Arena construction site hosted the celebration assembly that marked the commencement of work of the students` construction brigades: 36 students of the VSUACE will take part in the construction of the main arena of the city for two months.

Under the guidance of experienced engineers, builders of PJSC Stroytransgaz and subcontractors the students will execute different tasks both at the office and at the construction site where the works are performed.

The young builders will get fair wage for their job together with plastic cards, which they will use to get free meals at the dining room on the territory of the construction site. The student brigades will be fully kitted out: they will receive all necessary clothing and equipment (hard hats and safety vests).

In summer 2015 within the scope of the field experience the stadium already accepted the construction brigade “Monolit”, which included 60 VSUACE students. For two months they have been implementing earth, concrete works and installation of reinforcement, they got acquainted with the responsibilities of the production and technical department of the construction. That was as Volgograd students got the practical experience of construction of complex modern structures.

‘There is a lot of work at the construction site, so the help of students will come in handy, and the youth will get a very good experience, Project Director Sergey Kamin said, It is a splendid opportunity for the students to get working knowledge, to understand the builder occupation deeper and at the same time - to earn some money. For STG the construction brigades movement is a good source of manpower.’

PJSC Stroytransgaz has been making a practice of involvement of the students` construction brigades into different construction sites for many years already. Having a 25-year construction experience and having implemented more than 90 projects in 19 countries of the world, STG makes a huge stress on the transfer of the accumulated experience to the rising generation. Thus, for example, following the results of work in 2013, the brigade from Stroytransgaz named “The Strength of Current” was acknowledged the best one in the power grid complex of Russia.

Besides, now the Navigator Vocational Guidance project for orphans is being implemented at the Volgograd Arena. In 2016 more than 122 children have already visited the Volgograd Arena construction site and got acquainted with the construction occupations.
