Stroytransgaz’ student construction brigade has competed its mission in Yaroslavl Region

25 students from the National Research University ‘MPEI’ (Moscow Power Engineering Institute) have taken part in the construction of facilities within Yaroslavl (Huadian Tenin) CHPP, which are being built by Stroytransgaz for FGC-UES’s Affiliate, MES of Centre.
During six weeks the Jupiter construction brigade worked both in the construction office and at the site of 220kV overhead power line Yaroslavskaya - Tveritskaya, Yaroslavskaya - Yaroslavskaya-2 with a length of 29.5km. The students made a considerable contribution to the facility completion - the line is 90% complete. According to Aleksey Yakovlev, Project Director, the line will be energised in October. The first phase of the project was complete this May, when 11.7km long 220kV OPL Yaroslavskaya - Tutaev, Yaroslavskaya – Yaroslavskaya-1 was constructed. By the year end STG will have replaced circuit breaker control automatic devices at Yaroslavl CHPP, completing the project.
Ivan Ostankov, Jupiter leader, has shared his impressions of the work, “Our coaches treated us as if we were workfellows, rather than students. This was a huge responsibility, we knew we could not let them down. Over the six weeks we gained a most valuable experience. Speaking from the whole brigade, I’d like to say thank you to the builders who had faith in us.”
“Practical experience in an industry such as construction is of immense importance. We were happy to share experience with the students who are likely to be building vital projects together with us very soon. Based on work results, each brigade member deserves the highest grade,” said Aleksey Yakovlev, Huadian-Tenin CHPP Project Director, summarizing the brigade work.
JSC Stroytransgaz has been making a practice of involvement of the students` construction brigades into different construction sites for many years already. Thus, for example, following the results of work in 2013, the brigade from Stroytransgaz named “The Strength of Current” was acknowledged the best one in the power grid complex of Russia. Since 2015 students from construction colleges and universities have been involved in the construction of the Volgograd Arena stadium.
