Governor Andrey Bocharov visited the construction site of Volgograd Arena stadium

Volgograd Arena will become one of the most modern football stadiums in the world and satisfy the needs of the most experienced football powers. Governor of Volgograd Region Andrey Bocharov promised it during offsite meeting at the construction site of the future stadium.

As of today, the basic in-situ concreting has been completed, stands have been built, and protruding reinforcement for columns has been made at Volgograd Arena, and now we begin the stage of preparation for concreting and timbering. Heavy work will be fully completed after installation of 200 tons of steel structures in the “lower tier” of the stadium. Once this is done our workers will continue to work intensively to construct the facade structure, external staircases and load-bearing structures of two entry elements.

In addition, workers will continue the installation of the top steel structure of the stadium: they have already installed 15 of 44 beams of the compression ring which is the main structural section of the cable-stayed roof system.

In parallel to this, finishing work is underway at the stadium site. The filling of sand foundation for reinforced first floor is more than half-complete. A RC plate is being constructed for Sector A finish floors. Construction of interior LWC partitions on the second floor of the stadium has started.

According to the Governor of the Volgograd Region, a football field will be a source of pride. The construction of the field will start in 2017. It will be the most modern in the world and will meet the preferences of the most experienced football powers. This will allow holding world-class activities even after the 2018 World Cup.
