Central Booking Office of the Volgograd Arena Stadium Complete

JSC Stroytransgaz has finished concrete work on the central booking office of the Volgograd Arena stadium.

Cast-in-situ structures of the main booking office located on the Lenin Prospekt side are now entirely ready for finishing which is scheduled for 2017 and envisages installation of stained glasswork and application of finish coats on floors and walls. The construction of the foundation for the main entrance is close to be finished.

Builders have proceeded to construct pile foundation for booking offices of NE and SE entrance lobbies which are to be placed on the Volga River side.

The stadium will have 6 entrances equipped with turnstiles for spectators, 3 booking offices, and 2 checkpoints for vehicles. During the World Cup, these facilities will provide access for all the 45 thousand spectators within not more than an hour.

The erection of the stadium’s steelwork continues. 10 of the 44 beams of the compression ring, main load-bearing steelwork of the roofing cable-stayed system, are now installed. The lower level of the facade located at a height of 8 m is 77% complete. In October, builders are to reach a new height: they will start to work on the second facade level at el. +28 m. This is the most complicated phase of the facade erection as the work will be mainly carried out at height. A site is being prepared to accommodate a giant 750-tonne capacity crane at Sector A. This is due to construction process needs and weight features of the elements to be mounted: the heavy-duty crane is capable of lifting preassembled facade sections while staying 70 m away from the stadium’s bowl.

In parallel to this, finishing work is underway on the stadium site. The filling of sand foundation for reinforced first floor is more than half complete. A RC plate is being constructed for Sector A finish floors. Construction of interior LWC partitions on the second floor of the stadium has started.
