Stroytransgaz has completed the repair of the bridge across the Tarusa River

Stroytransgaz has completed the reconstruction of the bridge crossing near the village of Krukovo under the project for overhaul of bridges in Moscow Region. The works, which began in June 2016, were completed on 17 November 2016. Project originator is GBU Mosavtodor.

During the repair, the bridge road surface and its bearings were replaced, bridge superstructure girders and bank seats were repaired, and protection fence and barrier railings were reconditioned. After the repair, the bridge length accounted for 47.36 m, width – 10.74 m.

According to Building Inspection Spacialist of PJSC STG, Anton Rusovsky, during reconstruction the deck of the bridge was dismantled, beams and pillars were painted and sandblasted, bared reinforcement was treated with the use of a corrosion-preventive compound. Special formulations, which can significantly extend the service life of concrete structure, were applied to restore the protective layer and to level the surface.

Thirty six rubber bearings (RB) were installed to strengthen the structure for bridge girders. The advantage of these parts is that they are highly resistant to static and dead loads, and due to their elasticity they do not break even in case of vibration caused by heavy daily traffic.

Builders also reconditioned the bridge intermediate piers, and repaired both surface and underwater parts. Caissons (special waterproof chambers for underwater operations), which were used for reconstruction, will continue to act as a stay-in-place formwork.

In total, 88 meters of fence were installed at the approaches and 100 linear meters of fence were installed on the bridge crossing.
