Two more bridges repaired by STG in the Moscow Region

Today, Stroytransgaz, contracted by Mosavtodor, has completed repairs on two more bridges in the Moscow Region.

Rehabilitation of the bridge across the Nerskaya river in Orekhovo-Zuevo Municipality has been carried out since April 2016. The work included the construction of the deck slab amounting to 112 cub.m, replacement of the deck with an area of 761 sq.m, guardrails, and handrails as well. The length of this 10.7m wide bridge is 68.29m.

According to Dmitry Kochetkov, Senior Construction Supervisor, in May 2016 the bridge was closed to road traffic, with a footbridge constructed nearby. September 18, 2016 normal vehicular traffic was resumed with a speed limit set at 40km/h.

As part of repairs, girders were lifted and 32 supports were replaced. Concrete surfaces with an area of 1,700 sq.m were painted. Three expansion joints will significantly extend the bridge service life.

Work on the other project—the bridge across the Kamela river in Shatura Municipality—was started in June 2016. However, according to D. Kochetkov, by the time the project was about to be commissioned, it turned out that the river in this area is actually called Vodyanushka, and the name was corrected, at the request of the locals.

During the bridge renovation, replaced were the bridge deck and pavement, including 342 sq.m on the superstructure and 350 sq.m on the approaches, 36 supports, guardrails, and handrails.

Also, STG repaired the expansion joints and deck girders, and painted 443 sq.m of concrete surfaces.
