STG has completed repairs on an overpass on the Kashira Highway

Stroytransgaz has completed repairing another overpass in the Moscow Region, this time at the 35th km of the Kashira Highway.

The 71-meter two-lane bridge is part of an important interchange with a daily traffic over 20,000 vehicles. The first section repaired was opened to vehicular traffic on September 15, and the other one already in early November 2016.

According to Rasim Kerimov, STG’s leading expert, the rehabilitation included waterproofing, replacement of the asphaltic concrete pavement on the overpass and adjoining sections with a area of 1,213 sq.m, with the use of high-end materials with excellent strength and durability.

Also, the piers have been repaired, staircase descents from the sidewalks built, bridge structures concreted. The area of painted concrete surfaces has exceeded 2,000 sq.m. Pedestrians will now be able to walk safely over the bridge—it boasts renewed handrails and guardrails.

In March 2016 Stroytransgaz signed with Mosavtodor a contract to repair 10 bridges in the Moscow Region, including the overpass at the 35th km of the Kashira Highway, pontoon bridge across the Moskva River near Cherkizovo and 8 bridges elsewhere around the Moscow Region.

The project is nearing completion—7 bridges and the overpass have been commissioned. There remain 2 facilities: the pontoon bridge across the Moskva River in the Kolomenskoye Municipality, and the bridge across the Kashirka river in the Stupino Municipality, Moscow Region.
