In 2016, after expiry of the warranty service life, STG obtained Final Acceptance Certificates for facilities in UAE and Greece. The Certificates confirm that the facilities are fully operational and constructed to high quality standards.

The Certificate for the first facility—Tawila-Fujairah pipeline—was issued by the manufacturer, Dolphin Energy Ltd. The second project—construction of Nea Messimvria compressor station on the Kulata-Athens trunk pipeline near Thessaloniki—was delivered together with Prometheus Gas S.A, a Greek company. The project was ordered by DESFA S.A.

Tawila-Fujairah

Tawila-Fujairah pipeline was the first large-scale FEC project delivered in the UAE by a Russian construction company. The pipeline connects the receiving terminal in Tawila (the Emirate of Abu Dhabi) on the coast of the Persian Gulf and the effluent treatment facility in Qidfa (the Emirate of Fujairah) on the coast of the Gulf of Oman. This gas pipeline has increased the volume of transported offshore gas to meet the needs of a new electrical power plant in the Emirate of Fujairah, which serves the northern areas of the UAE.

STG’s scope included basic and detailed design, supply of equipment and materials, construction of a 48"-dia. 244km-long line section, project commissioning. The works were performed in harsh environmentalconditions of a desert.

Nea Messimvria

Nea Messimvria was designed for unmanned operation. To deliver its capacity, the compressor station uses two Solar turbo compressors of 7,688 MW each, operating both under 100% load and in standby mode. Construction and assembly works were largely performed by Stroytransgaz itself with minimum outsourcing.

Nea Messimvria is the first and so far the only compressor station in Greece. It is equipped and located so as to be capable of pumping Russian natural gas coming from Bulgaria and from Turkey through the Blue Stream pipeline into the Greek gas transmission network.
