Stroytransgaz energized a two-stage overhead 220 kW extension line “Yaroslavskaya - Tveritskaya, Yaroslavskaya - Yaroslavskaya-2” with the length of 29.5 km.

Commissioning of these lines was the second (final) stage of the construction of power transmission lines which are designed to ensure power generation by Yaroslavskaya (Huadan -Teninskoy) CHPP (470 MW). The customer is FGC UES - MES Center. The contract value amounted to RUB 1.8 billion.

As part of the project, 68 anchor and angular towers and 63 intermediate towers were replaced. According to Project Director A.A. Yakovlev, construction was carried out mainly on agricultural lands, so advanced multi-sided power transmission towers were used during installation of transmission lines to reduce the plots allocated. This design has a number of advantages including the durability and ease of maintenance.

At the same time, refurbishment of power equipment was carried out, the latest microprocessor relay protection and automation systems were installed at the working substations “Yaroslavskaya”, “Tveritskaya” and “Tutaev”.

During the first phase in June 2016, STG’s specialists completed the construction of a two-stage overhead 220 kV extension line “Yaroslavskaya - Tutaev, Yaroslavskaya - Yaroslavskaya-1” with the length of 11.6 km.

Additional information:

The Russian-Chinese company carries out refurbishment of Yaroslavskaya CHPP. China will investment RUB 20 billion and supply the equipment which will operate on gas fuel. The use of steam and gas technologies will help reduce fuel consumption by a quarter and substantially reduce emissions. It is planned to commission the facility in the near future.

Yaroslavl Region still depends on the energy systems of other Russian regions. Only 50% of current electricity demand are covered by its own generation facilities. Implementation of this project will solve the power shortage problem in the region, as well as will provide the technological capabilities for the development of economy and create new jobs.
