JSC Stroytransgaz finished capital improvement of the Molchanovo Substation

JSC Stroytransgaz (STG) finished capital improvement of the 35/6 kW Molchanovo Substation located in the Klenovskoye settlement of the Greater Moscow. The cost of works performed amounted to over 118 mln. roubles. The project was implemented within the framework of the investment program of PJSC MOESK acting as a customer, and the Government of Moscow.

The Molchanovo Substation is a power feeder for the residential sector, suburban settlements, farm businesses and localities of Molchanovo. Capital improvement of the substation balanced the power deficiency in the new district of Moscow.

Retrofitting of the Molchanovo Substation by the STG provided for increase of its transformer capacity up to 20 MVA, i.e. more than twofold. Two power transformers at the substation were replaced (2Х10 MVA instead of 2Х4 MVA), and the outmoded oil breakers were replaced with modern vacuum ones.

Within the project framework there was a new facility built housing the substation operation control center and other equipment including the 6kW switch house (SH), relay protection and emergency control tools, automatic process control systems (APCS), and connecting and commercial electricity accounting systems. The 35kW switch yard for electricity receiving and distribution was also renovated at the substation.

The contract for capital improvement of the Molchanovo Substation was signed in August 2013. The project works were completed in December 2016.
