Construction of the second overcrossing support commenced in Krasnogorsk

JSC Stroytransgaz specialists started construction of the second support of the railway overcrossing within the framework of construction of the first start-up facility of the multi-level interchange at the junction of Volokolamskoye Highway and Ilyinskoye Highway in Krasnogorsk District of the Moscow Region. Funds in the amount of RUB 6.8 bn are allocated by the regional road fund. The customer is State Public Institution of the Moscow Region “Management of Road Construction” which is subordinate to the Main Directorate of Road Facilities of Moscow Region.

“Installation of the overcrossing support bore piles is currently in progress. There are 156 specialists and 19 machinery units engaged in the fieldwork”, said acting Director of the State Public Institution “Management of Road Construction” Vladimir Loktev.

The project provides for construction of the right direction of the 358 m long overcrossing of the main section of Volokolamskoye Highway over the Rizhsky suburban direction railway, pedestrian overpass and underpass. They will also carry out the reconstruction of sections of Volokolamskoye Highway, a part of Ilyinskoye Highway and alignment (tortuosity decreasing) of the Banka River riverbed.

Since April 2016, during the preparation of the territory for construction, a large range of works on relaying underground utilities for three interchange start-up facilities has been carried out. Builders plan to complete the relocation of the utility networks in 2017. The most active phase of construction will be in the summer, when the installation of the span structure of the overcrossing over the railway will be carried out.

Construction of the first start-up facility will provide for unloading Volokolamskoye Highway in the Moscow direction. It will be a four-lane overcrossing with two lanes in each direction. The first start-up facility is scheduled for completion by the end of 2018.

There are three start-up facilities planned for construction to solve a difficult transport situation in Krasnogorsk. The second start-up facility provides for construction of the overcrossing left direction of the main section of Volokolamskoye Highway, and reconstruction of the bridge over the Banka River. The third stage will include the construction of a turnaround overpass on Volokolamskoye highway. The total length of the interchange will exceed nine kilometers. The expected traffic capacity of the new facility will exceed 100,000 vehicles per day.
