The striking is finished at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium. The construction stage included installation of the steel structures in the final position over the stands. The process was started on 15 February 2017 by the Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region Valery Shantsev during the on-site visiting meeting.

Earlier the builders installed all 44 steel trusses connecting the inner ring with support columns set around the stadium inner perimeter, and thus formed the stadium covering over the stands. The inner ring was supported at the height of 40 m by temporary steel structures.

According to the Head of construction of the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium Sergey Pichushkin, before the striking commencement, the specialists checked all bolted connections, calculated the steel structures settlement and prepared them for landing. “Representatives of the general design company became personally certain of the quality of the steel structures installation over the stands, and then approved the striking to commence”, said Sergey Pichushkin.

For two days the builders had been dismantling the temporary supporting elements. After that the weight of the structures over the stands was distributed upon 44 reinforced concrete support columns. As a result, the inner ring lowered by 33 cm and was finally anchored in the position.

At the same time the builders proceed with installation of the covering steel structures over the lobby zone, walling and partitioning with gas silicate blocks. Installation of utility systems both inside the stadium building and outside its perimeter is in progress. The on-site communication and telephone service networks laying has been commenced and 5 lifts have been installed.

Over 1200 workers are engaged at the site.
