JSC Stroytransgaz has started striking the Volgograd Arena facade. Currently the builders are dismounting temporary structures, which have supported the stadium “crown” units in the final position during the whole installation period. Earlier the STG specialists checked the quality of the 3,800 ton facade ring installation works, and confirmed the supporting structures could be dismounted.

At the same time the builders proceed with assembling the steel trusses to be installed over the stadium lobby to connect the facade with the compression ring. Enlargement of the trusses is performed on the ground. The ready units are then lifted and set up in the final position at a height of 40 meters. At the moment 65 trusses out of 88 have been assembled.

Finishing works, installation of utility systems and construction of a by-pass pedestrian bridge are in process. Also in process is the 123 meters wide central stairway with entrance ramps on each side to provide accessibility for the handicapped.

The builders proceed with strengthening of the Volga bank slopes; grading and levelling of the construction territory is preformed around-the-clock.
