JSC Stroytransgaz presents the photo report on the Frunzensky Bridge construction progress

Construction and installation works at the bridge over the Bannoye Lake were completed in late December 2016. Construction of the superstructure supported by seven piers took 1,487 cubic meters of concrete. Since the beginning of 2017 they have been forming and protecting embankment slopes by bank piers Nos. 1 and 7 of the bridge over the lake.

At the moment the main works are focused on construction of the 667 meters long six-lane bridge over the Samara River incorporating 7 spans of 29 to 135 meters long. According to the Urban Planning Code of the Russian Federation, facilities with similar characteristics are referred to Unique and Technically Complex Structures Category. The facility construction progress and quality of the works performed are supervised by the Federal Service Rostechnadzor.

Within the framework of the main bridge construction there are four piers being installed (Nos. 3, 4, 5 and 6). Two more piers (Nos. 2 and 7) and two bank piers (Nos. 1 and 8) were finished in November 2016.

The main working area is developed on the Samara River left bank, where they are installing the bridge superstructure. It will incorporate three sections: the central (between piers Nos. 2 and 7) and two side ones. The central section will be 596.5 meters long and installed by launching. At the moment the builders are assembling the first one of 12 segments of the superstructure central section. The first segment will be 88.5 meters long and weigh over 1 thousand tons.

The STG’s scope of works also includes construction of two interchanges. On the left bank of the Samara River, in the Shosseynaya Street area, the builders are installing concrete prismatic piles at ramp C-3, where installation of drainage piles is almost completed. Installation of reinforcement structures is also in progress on seven other ramps. Installation of the bore piles of the left support wall of ramp C-9 of the interchange at Frunze Street is close to completion. There will be total of 10 ramps.

The Frunzensky Bridge is being constructed on a 24/7 basis.
