The Frunzensky Bridge under construction by JSC Stroytransgaz is ready by 30%. It was yesterday reported by the Head of the Main Construction Department Konstantin Agalakov to the press corps at the construction site.

At the moment the builders are working on the piers of the main bridge over the Samara River (so far the four piers out of eight are ready); the deck assembly and works at the interchanges are in progress. Konstantin Agalakov commented on preparation for the deck installation: “Steel elements are assembled to form the structure to be moved in the span by stages, as soon as a section is ready”. The first section of the deck weighing over 1 thousand tons will be moved by four 880 ton jacks.

“The Frunzensky Bridge is unique in its combined assembly system. It means that both welding and bolt-on fractional connections are used when assembling the deck”, noted the Headman of Construction and Installation Works at Site No. 2 Aleksey Solomatin. “Besides, the bridge design features a strutted strengthening arch which will take the load of the main span”.
