At the Volgograd Arena the builders has started installing the steel structures of the covering over the lobby zone. They have already installed 4 of 88 enlarged trusses designed to connect the compression ring with the stadium facade. The total weight of the steel work will be up to 1,742 tons. The final structure will take the load of the cable roof installed over the stadium stands.

At the same time the preconstruction of the cable roof system is in progress - the roofing elements are being arranged and interconnected on the temporary supporting structures. The lifting of the ready system to the final position (top level at 48 m) is planned in the spring of 2017. The total length of the high-strength steel cabling used in the Russia’s largest cable roof will exceed 12 km.

The builders are finishing installation of the concrete structure of the 123 m wide central staircase and two adjacent ramps for the physically disabled by which the fans will get to the stadium from the central entrance. The pedestrian overpass construction is performed ahead of schedule and is ready by 56%.

Currently in progress there are protection of the Volga bank slope, installation of utility networks and internal partitioning of the first floor rooms in all sectors. The pavilion frames (elevator halls, rest rooms, refreshment areas) are being installed in sectors B, C and D on the second floor.
