Installation of the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium covering steel structures is completed

More than 10 thousand tons of the covering steel structures are installed over the stands and lobby of the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium. This was announced following the 24th visiting meeting at the stadium which was headed by the Governor Valery Shantsev.

“The covering installation is finished by 99%. One per cent remaining is the sectors accommodating four cranes we are going to use soon for the roof installation”, said the Head of the Stadium Construction Sergey Pichushkin. “We have also started installing footbridges under the stadium covering which are designed for placement of the lighting and sound equipment”.

Dismantling of auxiliary steel structures which supported the concrete rim of the stadium covering is finished at the future football field territory. As soon as they are removed from the construction site, the specialists will commence the preparatory stage of the football field set-up. “Millions of TV viewers worldwide will assess the degree of our readiness for the championship by the pitch condition. That’s why the issue should be given special priority. It is scheduled that the specialists to set about the pitch will be at the site by the first of May”, said the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Valery Shantsev making a point of the next works ahead.

At the same time, interior partitioning and walling in the stadium building are underway; this spread of work is completed by 58%. JSC “STG” will commence finishing utility space within days. Installation of utility networks inside the stadium building and beyond its perimeter is in progress. As of today, the heating networks around the arena are already installed. In April the builders will start painting concrete and steel structures of the stadium.
