JSC Stroytransgaz is mounting processing equipment necessary to lift the Volgograd Arena cable roof. The total of 12 hydraulic power packs and lubrication pipeline will be installed on the compression ring 40 meters above the ground.

“This equipment will ensure required pressure in the screw jacks the builders will use for the stage-by-stage lifting of the cable system into its final position over the stands”, said the Head of the Volgograd Arena Construction Sergei Kamin. “The hydraulic system will be controlled via special software and equipment delivered from France for the period of installation”.

At the moment, they have finished geodetic adjustment of the system cables arranged at the temporary supporting structures. The compression ring has been already set up with 62 out of 88 screw jacks. At the same time the future pitch area is under laying of tracks for moving of pillar cranes to be used for the cable system lifting, outfitting with structural components and rearrangement of the hydraulic equipment for the second lifting stage.

Assembly of the previously enlarged truss units designed to connect the facade and compression ring and form the stadium covering over the lobby zone is underway. The one-piece construction comprising the inner compression ring, facade and cover trusses will take the cable system load and ensure its stability.
