JSC Stroytransgaz has started the works on urban landscaping around Nizhny Novgorod Stadium. The total area of the site will be almost 160 thousand square meters. It will include grass plots fenced with curbing, parking lots, motor roads and sidewalks. This became known following the results of the follow-up offsite meeting at Nizhny Novgorod Stadium under the guidance of Governor Valery Shantsev, which was held on 13 July 2017.

“It is not an easy task to equip such a huge territory. Asphalt will be laid in several layers and, therefore, the actual area which the asphalt-spreader will operate on is more than 450 thousand square meters,” said Construction Manager of the stadium Sergey Pichushkin. “The territory around the stadium will include four grass plots with greenery. In addition, we will plant about two thousand trees around the city.”

Valery Shantsev, Governor of the region, also told about the work progress to mass media representatives. “The works on laying the main layer of the stadium’s field and installation of its utility systems are being completed – we will sow grass seeds here within the next few days. Furthermore, the painting of columns is underway and soon you will be able to see the final appearance of the stadium. In addition, construction, installation and finishing works are being carried out, including the entrance lobby, and utility networks are being built.”

At the same time, the installation of roofing made out from high-strength translucent polycarbonate is being carried out at the stadium.  Two TV panels of EMERCOM of Russia have been mounted in front of the stadium building. They will be used to inform the stadium's guests on the need to comply with safety rules, notify about emergencies and potential threats, and if they occur, broadcast instructions on behaviour. The work is conducted around the clock, and more than 2,500 people are involved in the construction.
