STG has started to install the seats at the Volgograd Arena stadium, which is being built for 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™. The 45,000-seat stadium is now being equipped with advanced high-tech seats featuring increased width and depth, and comfortable lateral support. To date, over 500 seats have been fitted.

The seat model symbolically dubbed ‘The Victory’ has been designed for STG specially for the Volgograd Arena stadium. The ergonomic shape of the seat prevents slipping, it is injury-safe since it produces no sharp or cutting edges when mechanically damaged, excluding any chance of injury or torn clothes. These vandal-proof seats with a ruggedized metal frame have passed laboratory tests for toxicity and fire safety.

“As a pilot project, last year we installed 1,000 seats of this model in SKA Ice Palace, also built by STG,” said Sergey Kamin, Volgograd Arena construction manager. “Over the year we have seen that the seats are designed to every ergonomics requirement, provide maximum comfort while viewing an event, and meet all FIFA’s requirements,” he added.

The stadium in Volgograd will get seats with three colors: the lower grandstand tier will be largely in white, the seats at the top tier will feature the colors of Rotor-Volgograd Football Club—blue and aquamarine. At the Level 2 balcony seats for persons with reduced mobility and their escort will be provided. The VIP zone will have Victory-M high-comfort seats with armrests and soft elements upholstered with high-class eco-leather, as well as soft seats made in Spain.

The construction of the encircling walking gallery is nearing completion with concreting finished for sectors A, B, and C, and sector D being in progress. An antislip polymer coating is being applied to the grandstands, and guardrails at the top tiers of the grandstands are being fitted.
