STG is installing power equipment at Medvedevskaya Substation

JSC Stroytransgaz is installing the main power equipment at 110/20 kV Medvedevskaya Substation, which is under construction and located at Skolkovo Innovation Center. The company's specialists began this stage of the work in early September. 

Two 80 MVA power transformers will be installed at the facility, as well as digital Relay Protection and Emergency Automation (RPEA) designed to quickly identify and disable the damaged components of the power system. The substation will be equipped with a 110 kV SF6 gas insulated switchgear (GIS) consisting of 9 cubicles and a 20 kV metal-clad switchgear (MCS) consisting of 34 cubicles.

Before installing the equipment, the builders have completed the assembly of the building frame, installation and finishing of its internal partitions. The exterior of the substation has been made with modular panels of “Gloss Black” colour, the facade will also be decorated with wavelike painted aluminium plates.

Energizing of Medvedevskaya Substation is scheduled for November 2017. 

The purpose of project is to meet the increasing demands and improve the reliability of power supply to consumers of Skolkovo Innovation Center. Medvedevskaya Substation and two other existing substations will ensure power supply to administrative, office, educational and residential buildings of the innovation center. It is planned that about 50,000 people will live, study and work on an area of 4 million square meters by 2020.
