Stadiums in Nizhny Novgorod and Volgograd Witnessed by FIFA

The stadiums being built by JSC STG Nizhny Novgorod and Volgograd dedicated to the World Cup 2018 were inspected by FIFA and Russia 2018 Organizing Committee delegates. The inspection was part of the operational visit of the Committee now addressing the progress of preparations of all stadiums to the World Cup.

The delegation headed by Colin Smith, Director of the FIFA Department for Competitions and Events, comprised upward of 100 experts in preparation and holding of the World Cup dealing with such issues as security, logistics, hospitality services, media support, marketing and ticket programs, etc. Specialists of 10 groups carefully examined the stadiums and debated the arenas functionality issues during and after the upcoming World Cup.

Following the visit to the stadiums, the experts highlighted an advance readiness of the arenas and their uniqueness and also expressed confidence that construction activities will be completed until the year-end. Test matches on the stadiums scheduled for the coming spring will be the dress rehearsal for the World Cup 2018, and on May 9 the Russian Football Cup final will be held on the Volgograd Arena.
