Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation inspected the final stage of construction of the 2018 World Cup football stadiums in Volgograd and Nizhny Novgorod in cooperation with regulatory bodies. First Deputy Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation Leonid Stavitsky, senior officials of JSC Stroytransgaz, representatives of ANO “Arena-2018”, FSUE “Sport-Engineering”, supervisory agencies, and special-purpose committees of the regional and city administrations took part in the offsite meetings. The main task of the taskforce group, which was set up by order of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vitaly Mutko, is to control the commissioning of the stadiums. In the near future, experts of the group will begin to carry out this task on a daily basis.

Leonid Stavitsky highly appreciated the volume and quality of the works performed at both stadiums, but stressed that the most important project implementation stage was ahead: “The final stage of the work is the most difficult one. The stadium is a living organism, and all participants of the process shall work synchronously at the final stage to make it come to life.” According to him, specialists will have to solve a lot of issues related to the auditing by regulatory bodies, reporting and, actually, commissioning of the facilities.
