Installation of the roof at Nizhny Novgorod Stadium has been completed

JSC Stroytransgaz, which is the Construction General Contractor, has completed the installation of the roof at Nizhny Novgorod Stadium. Specialists have installed 54 705 square meters of the roof over spectator stands and lobby area. According to the project, the stadium football pitch will remain open. The roof is made of polycarbonate sheets of white, blue and dark blue colours placed checkerwise.

“The roof is built taking into account the regional climate pattern, it is very robust and will withstand severe wind and snow loads,” said Construction Manager Sergey Pichushkin. “During the rain, water drains into the rainwater drainage channels and then redirected to the storm sewer system.  Water gutters and piping will be equipped with heating system, which will prevent ice formation and facilitate the melting of snow.

Meanwhile, other works are carried out at the stadium. Structural elements are installed on 44 round columns. Later the windproof facade membranes will be mounted on the elements. Landscaping, asphalt works and tree and shrub planting around the arena, as well as finishing of premises, installation of stadium utilities and maintenance equipment are underway. Specialists perform a complex of works to ensure the proper maintenance of the pitch, which has already the goalposts with a size of 7.32 x 2.44 m installed. More than 38 thousand seats have been mounted on the stadium stands.
