STG Will Construct a Bridge in Perm Krai

Stroytransgaz JSC has won the tender and signed a contract with Perm Concession Company LLC (PKK) for renovation and construction of road facilities in Perm Krai, which includes erection of a new bridge over the Chusovaya river.

The project will be executed as part of public-private partnership. STG will work as a Contractor for PKK, which will act as a concession holder (investor). Funds of federal budget and regional budget will be employed for financing of the project as well. The total cost of STG works will cover over 13 billion roubles.

Stroytransgaz will update the design documentation, approve the project in the Federal Autonomous Institution Glavgosexpertiza (FAI Glavgosexpertiza) of Russia as well as repair and construction and erection works for a number of facilities, which include:

  • construction of a new bridge over the Chusovaya river with the length of 1.5 km;
  • renovation of the functioning bridge over the Chusovaya river (1.5 km long) and motor access roads to the bridge (2.05 km);
  • construction of a section of Vostochny Obkhod motor road in Perm (4.1 km);
  • renovation of a section of Perm-Berezniki motor way (1.5 km);
  • renovation of eight overpasses.

Alexander Smolnikov, Director on Strategy and Development of STG JSC, gave his comment on the Project: “For the company, this project is a new experience of interaction with the customer. We hope it will be successful since the public-private partnership format develops actively nowadays. Besides for STG the entry into such a prospective region as Perm Krai is a perfect chance to demonstrate our competence”.

Commissioning of the new bridge crossing is planned for 2021. This will be an advanced high-speed motorway with the design traffic speed up to 100 km/h. The traffic capacity will reach up to 50 thousand vehicles per day. After completion of renovation of the existing bridge over the Chusovaya river, it is planned that the transit across the new bridge will be a toll one.

The project execution will improve Perm transport links with other large cities in the north of Perm Krai and will provide possibilities for development of the federal transport corridor of Moscow - Kazan - Perm - Khanty-Mansyisk - Surgut - Tomsk.  Renovation of the existing bridge and construction of a new one will also allow to eliminate traffic jams at the crossing over the Chusovaya river, particularly in the summer cottage season.
