STG launches a Test Lab

In 2018, Stroytransgaz opened an in-house test laboratory. The new unit was certified by Independent Construction Testing and Appraisal Centre (ICTAC), an autonomous nonprofit organization, confirming that it is technically qualified to test building materials, products, and civil structures.

D.Eng. Elena Bushnevaya, laboratory manager, said, “the lab will operate on a 24/7 basis. This will allow any building materials to be quickly tested for quality properties against national standards. The in-house laboratory strengthens STG’s competences as a reliable high-performance contractor,” she added.

The lab is kitted out with state-of-the-art equipment to test quality of inert materials (sand, crushed stone, soil, crushed stone/sand/gravel mixes etc.), concrete and asphalt/concrete mixes, cast-in-place structures and reinforced concrete items, asphalt concrete bases and pavings of roads.

The first mobile lab station is located on the Dmitrov Highway, where sections of the A-104 Moscow-Dmitrov-Dubna motorway are being constructed or rebuilt. It will also provide quality tests for the existing nearby sites within STG’s Infrastructure Construction package. The lab is expected to provide services to both STG’s contractors and external companies, following a special accreditation.
