Representatives of veterans organizations visited the Volgograd Arena Stadium

On February 1, about 30 guests, who represent both the regional and city veterans organizations of Volgograd Region, visited the Volgograd Arena Stadium. The visit to the stadium was part of a special program of the events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad.

The event was organized for top officials of public organizations of veterans of war, labour, armed forces and law enforcement agencies from the whole Volgograd Region.  In addition to the natives of Volgograd, the group included the guest of the stadium Anatoly Petrovich Surkov, Lieutenant General, Head of the Council of Veterans of Chelyabinsk Region.

During the excursion, the guests became acquainted with new sports facility of Volgograd, and appreciated the beauty of the modern unique building. The delegation inspected the outside and inside of the football arena where the finishing of the premises was being completed. The main sports facility of the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup in Volgograd was introduced to them by representatives of Stroytransgaz, the General Contractor of the project, i.e. by Project Manager Sergey Kamin, Chief Engineer of the Volgograd Arena Stadium Viktor Baturo, as well as by representatives of the regional organizing committee for the preparation of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

In memory of the first visit to the Volgograd Arena Stadium, the guests received souvenirs with symbols of Volgograd and they were provided with information on matches of the world championship which will be held in the Hero City. The guests, who took part in the excursion, shared their impressions: “It was like “touching” the 2018 FIFA World Cup by ourselves and visiting a big football event.”
