The stadiums built by JSC STG for the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia continue passing their last main examination before the Championship. Second test matches were held at the Volgograd and Nizhny Novgorod arenas

Nizhny Novgorod Stadium saw its second game on April, 28. The match made a new attendance record for the 7 years of National Football League existence: the duel between “Olimpiets” (Nizhny Novgorod) and “Rotor” (Volgograd) was attended by 26 thousand of spectators. The brutal fight resulted in the 1:0 victory of “Olimpiets”.

Volgograd-Arena saw its second test match on May, 2. Local club “Rotor” hosted “Krilya Sovetov” (Samara). The game having been spectated by over 24 thousand fans was yielded by the hosts 0:2.

Both stadiums were highly qualified after the games held. In this connection, Senior Coach of “Olimpiets” Nikolay Pisarev put a parallel between the arena of Nizhny Novgorod for 45 thousand seats and the Moscow stadium for 81 thousand seats: “For me our stadium looks like renovated Luzhniki, yet with less number of seats. When the stadium is fully crowded, we will feel that. I would like to thank everyone who fitted the field, now it is ready for the start of creation”.

Coach of “Krilya Sovetov” (Samara) Andrey Tikhonov was very pleased by the Volgograd arena: “I would like to congratulate Volgograd with such a wonderful stadium. In my opinion, the team will manage to enter the Premier League next year. This stadium shall be a part of the Russian Football Premier League”.

The final rehearsal before FIFA World Cup 2018 will be the third test games going to be played at the stadiums in the beginning of May. It is expected that each stadium will be attended then by 40,000-45,000 spectators.
